Cayle Chernin Awards (2020-Present)
The Cayle Awards are presented to emerging or discipline evolving female, female-presenting or gender non-conforming artists, of any age, to assist in the creation of new work. Created in 2012, The Cayle Awards is one of the largest awards in Ontario to empower artists in Media and Theatre Arts.
Since being hired by Founder, Dwight McFee, the Cayle Awards has seen a huge growth (400% in 2020) in both the number of applicants each year and diversity. I help collect and organize applications and due to the pandemic, managed to transfer the awards to an online space where speeches and announcements were entirely made online through the Cayle Facebook page and website. Winners and finalists were even decided through Zoom for the first time ever. The problems created by the pandemic became manageable with the online solutions I was able to foster during my time with the Awards. In 2022, I will be the Director of Events for the Cayle Awards as it celebrates all winners and finalists from 2020-2022 in a single night.
I also created a new website for Founder and Actor, Dwight McFee which has led to new acting opportunities for him.
